I’ve lost my purity. How can I become innocent again?
There is a first time for everything. We almost always remember the first time we do something we haven’t done before – regardless of what it is. That special sense of discovery and excitement stamps the experience upon our emotions, making it unforgettable.
When it comes to relationships, there is an ideal way – which leads to memories of great happiness and fulfillment – but there is also a way which leads to sorrow and very deep regret… feelings of being used, and a ‘brokenness’ over a choice that cannot be undone. And for too many of you – especially younger ones – your innocence may have been robbed from you, against your will.
Do you know that the voice inside of you - telling you that you are impure, unworthy, and used - is NOT the voice of your God? Do you know that your God is a God of restoration?
You may try a LOT of things to help you deal with your feelings of guilt and regret, but absolutely NONE will actually remove your guilt from you, and declare you as SPOTLESS and holy. But that is EXACTLY what God will do for you – if only you’ll ask Him.
True, you cannot reclaim something that was given away to the wrong person - or in the wrong timing. But you can be made clean from any guilt or regret, and literally start over with God. However, it begins by confronting some truths about what happened & what you will do in the future.
The good news is that you don’t have to bear the guilt of wrong choices or unfortunate circumstances. Nor do you have to keep reliving them. He has provided His own strength for you, through our Savior, Jesus – and His life will transform you, and make you holy in His sight! He will bring you that deep inner healing you are craving. The bible calls this ‘God’s grace.’ It really is His perfect restoration.
